BOARDMAN AT A GLANCE

BOARDMAN CAPABILITIES

TOTAL MOLDING PERFORMANCE

Getting the products you need, when you need them requires more than just an injection molding supplier. That’s why Boardman has developed a uniquely integrated set of capabilities and services that provides Total Molding Performance, including: Engineering, Development, Just-In-Time Production/Subassembly and Efficient Supply Chain Management. Through this integrated offering, Boardman helps companies convert metal parts to plastic, lower production cost, streamline operations and achieve a higher level of quality, appearance and durability.

We use a cross-functional team of engineering, quality, manufacturing and customer service to review all new projects. This allows us to not only quickly review new parts or transfer parts for quoting but also makes sure the core group are all working together. By a using a cross functional team we can pull our experience and ideas together to make the process from mold build or transfer to part approval a seamless and trouble free process. This goes beyond “great service” because this is a process. In addition to this we pride ourselves on being able to utilize higher end technology with our molding process such as robots versus manually handling parts. We have even gained government grants to purchase newer technology to be a safer working environment.

QUALITY CONTROL

QUALITY CONTROL

Each product produced at Boardman Molded Products is manufactured and inspected using the Part Quality Specification.  The Part Quality Specification is based upon the customer’s quality requirements and our standards for production quality. It outlines the required material, quality specifications, packaging specifications, and inspection requirements for the product.  Inspections are performed multiple times per shift by trained quality inspectors.  Required dimensions are checked using traditional gages such as calipers, micrometers and gage pins.  Custom gages are also used to check dimensions as required as well as specialized metrology equipment such as spectrophotometers to monitor color during manufacturing of parts where color is critical for the customer’s use of their product.  Additional inspection equipment available are DCC/CMM machines, laser scanners and moisture analyzers.  All inspection data is recorded and stored for future reference.
